This weekend we took a break from hiking to attend an Albuquerque annual tradition, the Balloon Fiesta! So we woke up at 4:30am to make the drive to the Balloon Fiesta Park for the famed 7:00am mass ascent of the balloons. Sadly it didn’t quit go off as planned. As you can see in one of the pictures below there was a huge fog bank that formed over the river which prevented most of the balloons from launching. In case you were wondering no fog is not common in Albuquerque; borderline unheard of. So we had to just walk around the Balloon Fiesta Park and look at the balloons while they were on the ground. We are still debating if we will make another attempt next week or if one early morning wake up for balloons was enough this year. Enjoy some balloon pictures!
We started this blog to share how we manage to live a “normal” life with jobs and a mortgage but still get outside to have adventures.
